About the team
You’ll join Sainsbury’s Corporate Affairs function, a team focused on building trust, driving colleague engagement and strengthening our corporate reputation.
At Sainsbury’s, colleagues are at the heart of everything we do. The Colleague Engagement team plays a critical role in how we listen to colleagues, turn insight into action and create meaningful experiences that help colleagues feel heard, valued and connected.
Working at the heart of the organisation, the Colleague Engagement team partner closely with teams across the business to ensure engagement activity is joined up, purposeful and focused on what makes the biggest difference for colleagues and leaders.
More about the role
We’re looking for a Senior Colleague Voice and Insights Manager to lead how we listen to colleagues and turn what they tell us into meaningful action.
You’ll own our colleague listening strategy and key programmes, bringing together insight from surveys, listening groups and colleague voice channels. You’ll make complex information clear and useful, helping leaders understand what matters to colleagues and where action will make the biggest difference.
This is a visible and influential role. You’ll work with senior leaders and teams across the business, champion the colleague voice and continually improve how we gather, share and act on insight. Day to day, you’ll bring together quantitative and qualitative insight from surveys, listening groups, colleague involvement groups, Viva Engage and other voice channels. You’ll turn complex information into clear narratives and practical recommendations, support leaders to create effective action plans and report progress to senior forums. The role offers significant autonomy and visibility, including direct work with senior leaders and opportunities to design leadership listening sessions, visit stores and improve how we reach colleagues who do not routinely use email.
More about you
You’ll bring a blend of colleague listening, engagement and data expertise, with the ability to move confidently between survey operations, insight generation and turning feedback into meaningful action.
You’ll be comfortable working with large quantitative and qualitative data sets, using a high level of attention to detail to identify trends, develop clear narratives and provide practical recommendations for leaders. You’ll understand the challenges of listening to a diverse workforce and be able to translate colleague feedback into actions that improve engagement and experience.
As a highly visible role, you’ll build trusted relationships across the organisation, work effectively with senior stakeholders and manage multiple priorities with autonomy. Experience of leadership listening programmes, employee engagement surveys, data analytics or the Glint platform would be beneficial, but is not essential.
Essential criteria
• Demonstrable experience of survey design setting up and running employee or colleague surveys, covering survey set-up, deployment, data management, analysis and reporting.
• Proven ability to manage large quantitative and qualitative data sets, including checking, integrating or restructuring data, and translating findings into clear narratives and recommendations.
• Evidence of using colleague feedback or organisational insight to develop practical engagement actions, action plans or measurable improvements.
• Demonstrable experience of influencing senior stakeholders and producing clear briefings, presentations or listening activities for leadership audiences.
• Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams with a high level of accuracy and autonomy, while adapting delivery to changing priorities and stakeholder needs.
