Closing date: 21 September 2026
Requisition ID: 400079360
Based in the Sainsbury’s Office in London, we’re recruiting an ambitious Associate Analyst to work alongside stakeholders in Nectar360 & Sainsbury’s to drive our media and consultancy proposition to FMCG and GM clients. Nectar360 is the company behind Nectar, the UK’s largest loyalty programme, with over 27m members across the country.
Do you take satisfaction in seeing your recommendations implemented in the ‘real world’? Are you analytically creative and motivated by new challenges? Do you have a passion for working with data to drive insight and improve customer understanding?
When you join us you will be providing world-class customer insights for our clients. Utilising the Nectar data to understand how we can personalise the customer experience and drive business impact, this role is a fantastic opportunity to apply and develop your analytical capabilities.
The role is based in our London office on average 1 day a week, with home working expected the remainder of the time. Occasional travel to our FMCG clients is required.
What will you be doing?
- You'll analyse Nectar, Sainsbury's and supplier data to maximise understanding of customer behaviour and provide impactful insights and recommendations. You'll take responsibility for delivering end-to-end analytical projects, using SQL to interrogate large datasets and combining multiple sources including Sainsbury's transactional data, ranging data and customer profiling information.
- You'll build your analytical and technical expertise as you deliver projects across a wide variety of topics, such as customer journeys, segmentation, ranging, promotions and campaign effectiveness. You'll be expected to work confidently with large datasets, developing efficient and accurate SQL solutions to answer complex business questions.
- You’ll take a proactive role in delivering increasing revenue for Nectar360, such as experimenting with new methods and data to enhance analytics, and improving our analytics efficiencies.
- You should be able to look beyond the data to find relevant and actionable insights that are useful and interesting to stakeholders. You’ll be responsible for making your insight actionable; explaining complex analytics to non-technical audiences and making clear recommendations on how stakeholders should be using the insight you’re providing.
- You’ll be expected to confidently & independently create well formatted PowerPoint documents and Tableau dashboards that explain the analysis that you have generated, presenting findings to internal & external stakeholders in an engaging and enthusiastic manner.
Essential Criteria
- An innovative mind and a passion for solving problems.
- Technical confidence and statistical understanding to manipulate and interpret datasets using Excel and SQL, R or Python.
- Experience of BI tools (e.g. Tableau or Business Objects) and AWS/Snowflake would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and experience in collaborating with peers or colleagues.
This role will suit you if:
- You’re looking to grow your career in a fast paced, commercial environment.
- You’re looking to work autonomously in a client-facing environment. You’ll take accountability for your analytical projects and build strong collaborative partnerships with both Sainsbury’s suppliers and internal teams.
- You thrive on excellence all the way. You will need to deliver high-quality insight with attention to detail.
- You’re looking for variety and new challenges. We work with a wide range of contacts across Nectar360 and Sainsbury’s, providing analytical advice to multiple business units. No two questions are the same, so you’ll need to be analytically creative whilst thinking on your feet to understand the real question we need to answer and implementing the best analytical techniques to do so.
