We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work–life balance. That’s waiting for you at Sainsbury’s. We’re the first to say we do HR differently here. For a start, we work as business partners and specialists — whether that’s making sure nearly 150,000 colleagues are paid on time, or shaping a strategy that helps us attract the right people, put them in the right place, and unlock their potential. This is a fast-moving business, and our policies and rewards evolve with it. That’s why we’re as flexible as we can be about where and when you work. We’re also flexible about your future. There’s always room to move up or across, if that’s what you want. We really value different perspectives, so there’s no one opinion, no single path, and yours matters.

Why join us

At Sainsbury's, people are at the heart of everything we do, and as a Senior Recruiter you'll play a key role in shaping the talent that drives our business forward.

This is an exciting opportunity to partner with some of our most influential corporate functions, with a primary focus on Finance and HR. You'll be trusted to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, influence hiring decisions, and help attract exceptional talent into critical roles that make a real difference across the organisation.

You'll join a supportive, collaborative recruitment team that values fresh ideas, embraces flexibility, and is passionate about delivering an outstanding candidate experience. Whether you're helping a future Finance leader make their next career move or building talent pipelines for emerging business needs, you'll have the opportunity to make a visible impact while continuing to develop your own career.

What you'll do

As a Senior Recruiter, you'll be responsible for end-to-end recruitment across our Finance and HR business areas, partnering closely with hiring managers to identify, attract and secure the very best talent.

You'll act as a trusted advisor, bringing market insight, talent intelligence and recruitment expertise to every conversation. You'll help hiring managers navigate a competitive talent market, challenging thinking where needed and recommending innovative attraction strategies to secure diverse, high-quality candidates.

Candidate experience will be at the centre of everything you do. From first conversation through to offer acceptance, you'll ensure every candidate has a positive, engaging and inclusive experience that reflects our employer brand.

You'll also have the opportunity to lead and support recruitment projects that go beyond individual vacancies. This could include building strategic talent pipelines, delivering hiring campaigns, or helping shape new ways of working across the recruitment function. Using data, market trends and candidate feedback, you'll continuously look for opportunities to improve how we attract and hire talent.

Who you are

You're a passionate in-house recruiter who thrives on building relationships, influencing stakeholders and delivering exceptional hiring outcomes.

You'll bring experience recruiting for corporate functions and enjoy partnering with senior leaders to solve business challenges through great hiring. You love getting under the skin of a function, understanding what great talent looks like, and finding creative ways to attract it.

You're naturally proactive and commercially minded, using market insight, recruitment data and candidate feedback to inform your approach. You're equally comfortable managing multiple vacancies, leading recruitment projects, and coaching others by sharing your expertise and best practices.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who genuinely cares about candidate experience, diversity and inclusion, and creating great outcomes for both candidates and hiring managers.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end in-house recruitment across professional or corporate functions.
  • Previous experience supporting a corporate business area, with direct recruitment experience within Finance and/or HR functions highly desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience building strong partnerships with hiring managers and stakeholders to influence hiring decisions and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Proven success using direct sourcing techniques, including LinkedIn Recruiter and other market mapping tools, to identify and engage high-quality talent.

  • Strong understanding of recruitment data, market intelligence and talent insights, using these to drive decision-making and improve hiring outcomes.
