At Argos, how we manage our products across their lifecycle is critical to how we deliver for customers and drive strong commercial performance. From planning and trading through to optimisation and exit, this is a space that is constantly evolving as the business grows and changes.
At the centre of that is our Central Merchandising team, bringing together data, insight and cross functional collaboration to shape smarter decisions and continuously improve how we work.
The Product Lifecycle Manager sits right at the heart of this. It’s a cross functional commercial leadership role, working across product areas to support and challenge merchandising teams to deliver their plans. With a strong focus on improving stock health and driving our working capital position, the role plays a key part in building and embedding best in class merchandising planning and trading principles.
This is a fast moving and varied role with plenty of exposure across the business. You’ll be involved in major projects and transformation activity, working through complexity, prioritising what adds the most value and turning data into clear, compelling insight that drives action. It is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys influencing across teams, building strong relationships and making a tangible impact on how the business operates.
What You’ll Do
You will lead how we use data and insight to improve stock health, trading performance and profitability across the business, working closely with merchandising, supply chain, trade planning and digital teams to align activity and priorities. You will play a key role in supporting decision making by translating complex data into clear, meaningful insight that can be easily understood and acted on.
Alongside this, you will be heavily involved in business change, helping teams adapt to new ways of working and improve existing processes. You will bring together risks, opportunities and performance insight to support clear decision making, while building strong relationships across a wide stakeholder group and influencing at all levels.
As a leader, you’ll create a high performing environment within your team, encouraging ownership, curiosity and pace, while developing those around you.
Who You Are
You are a strong commercial thinker with experience in merchandising, stock management or a similar environment, and you are comfortable working across multiple teams in a complex business. You confidently use data to solve problems and shape decisions and are able to work through ambiguity to bring clarity.
You are a natural influencer and communicator, able to simplify complexity and tell a clear, compelling story that brings others with you. You are comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment, and you know how to focus on what really adds value.
You bring a proactive mindset, always looking for ways to improve how things are done, and you show resilience and tenacity when working through challenges. Above all, you build strong relationships and work collaboratively to deliver the best outcomes.
