As a Lead Analyst in Nectar360 Supplier Analytics, you’ll sit at the heart of our growing retail media and consultancy proposition for General Merchandise clients. What you’ll do

As the Lead Analyst for N360 Supplier Analytics at Sainsbury’s, you will lead the development and delivery of retail media consultancy analytics for General Merchandise clients, owning end‑to‑end insight and measurement propositions from initial scoping through to impact. Acting as the primary analytics partner for key clients, you will build trusted, consultative relationships grounded in strong commercial understanding and a clear grasp of their strategic priorities. You will translate business objectives into clear analytical roadmaps, shaping scalable, high‑quality solutions that drive measurable outcomes, including innovative uses of data clean rooms to enable secure data collaboration. Working closely with analytics, data engineering, product, retail consultancy, market research and client teams, you will coordinate cross‑functional delivery and help evolve the Nectar360 analytics proposition portfolio. You will ensure projects are well planned, delivered on time and to a high standard, clearly articulating insight, recommendations and value. Alongside delivery, you will champion best practice in analytics, data quality and communication, support and mentor analysts in their technical and commercial development, and drive continuous improvement through automation, innovation and the integration of complex, disparate data sources into new analytical propositions.

 

Who you are

As a Lead Analyst in N360 Supplier Analytics for Sainsbury's, you are a seasoned data professional with over 4 years of experience in analytics and client engagement, specialising in retail media consultancy and customer insights. With a strong project management mindset and a proven track record of delivering impactful analysis, you excel in developing bespoke customer insight propositions and driving innovation in analytical solutions. Your expertise in statistical methodologies, customer databases, and data science tools, coupled with your ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and clients, allows you to lead cross-functional teams and deliver high-quality, actionable insights that drive business growth and revenue.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrable advanced SQL capability, evidenced by ownership of complex analytical queries across large customer datasets (e.g. multi‑table joins, window functions, performance‑optimised queries) used to deliver client‑ready insights or products.
  • Proven experience leading end‑to‑end analytical engagements, including shaping the analytical approach, delivering insight, and making clear commercial recommendations.
  • Evidence of applying statistical or data science techniques (e.g. segmentation, clustering, classification, hypothesis testing) within real business or customer analytics use cases.
  • Experience working with modern analytical data stacks (e.g. cloud data warehouses, BI tools, analytical languages such as Python or R, data clean rooms) to deliver scalable, reusable analytical outputs.
  • Demonstrable client‑facing or senior stakeholder experience, with excellent communication skills, shown through success of collaborating with stakeholders, ownership of presentations and analytical propositions that influenced decision-making.
  • Proven experience owning analytical roadmap development and prioritisation with internal or external stakeholders, effectively balancing demand, value and team resource to deliver against commercial objectives.
  • A proven track record of process improvement or automation within analytics workflows that enhances the efficiency, scalability, effectiveness or commercial impact of analytical delivery.
  • Experience working with customer data, evidenced by the ownership of end-to-end customer analytics projects, or delivery of incremental media measurement.
