We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work/life balance. That’s waiting for you right here. Supply Chain and Logistics is the engine room that gets thousands of products from farms and factories, through the business and to millions of customers every day. We plan around everything from barbecue weekends to Sunday roasts, supporting those who want oven-ready cauliflower cheese and those who prefer to make it from scratch. Insight and data are everything. But so is judgement — when there’s an issue or ambiguity anywhere, we’re often the first to spot it. There’s a big transformation underway. It calls for people who champion change, bring others with them, and collaborate and communicate. Because those people can go a very long way here.

Why join us

Joining Sainsbury’s as a Project Analyst within our Logistics Systems team means becoming part of a major multi‑year programme designed to modernise the technology that powers our logistics and transport operations. You will work at the centre of this transformation, partnering with Change, Operations and Technology teams to help shape how key strategic projects are delivered. This is a collaborative and fast‑moving environment where your analytical capabilities and problem‑solving skills will directly influence the success of high‑impact programmes. If you are motivated by technology‑enabled change and want to contribute to work that will make a tangible difference across Sainsbury’s, this role offers an excellent platform for growth.

What you'll do

In this role, you will support planning, tracking and delivery across the full project lifecycle, ensuring clear visibility of progress, risks and dependencies. You will gather information from multiple sources to create and maintain project plans and timelines, identify interdependencies, and ensure milestones are well defined. You will work closely with project teams to provide structured project management support, coordinate communications, and prepare clear status updates and documentation for stakeholders. You will take ownership of maintaining risk registers and issue logs, monitoring actions and facilitating resolution where needed. You will also play a key role in embedding consistent project management ways of working by collaborating with the Logistics PMO and Technology PMO teams to standardise processes. In addition, you will help prepare for key project events such as launch reviews, milestone checkpoints and post‑implementation evaluations, ensuring that benefits and outcomes are evidenced and clearly articulated. Throughout, you will look for opportunities to streamline ways of working, introduce automation, enhance reporting and support continuous improvement across the programme. You will also coordinate resource planning activities across the end‑to‑end programme, supporting teams to remain aligned and effective.

Who you are

You are an analytical and detail‑focused professional with a solid understanding of business operations, project management and end‑to‑end process workflows. You bring experience supporting complex portfolios or programmes, ideally within a PMO environment, and are confident in managing change, assessing risks and making sound decisions at the appropriate level. You communicate clearly and build strong, trusted relationships across teams, offering challenge where needed to ensure clarity of scope, timelines and benefits. You are comfortable working with a range of stakeholders and thrive in environments where collaboration and continuous improvement are essential. You bring strong written communication skills and are confident using tools such as PowerPoint, MS Project, Jira and Confluence. You are customer‑focused, adaptable to changing priorities and committed to delivering high‑quality work that supports the successful delivery of technology‑enabled projects. A project management or business analysis qualification is required, with PMO or Prince2 certification considered an advantage.
