About the team

We’re building a strengthened Operational Excellence capability within Argos Commercial & Digital, bringing together our retained teams and Accenture Managed Services as one integrated function. Sitting at the centre of Argos, the Commercial & Digital division combines deep retail, digital and operational expertise to deliver excellent experiences across all our brands. As part of our Senior Process Owner community, you’ll work at the heart of this this by partnering closely with internal and offshore teams to simplify core processes, improve data quality, strengthen governance and drive continuous improvement so we can serve customers better and operate at pace.

More about the role

As a Senior Process Owner, you will lead the end-to-end management of core Commercial & Digital processes designing, prioritising and optimising how work flows across systems, teams and geographies. You will drive continuous improvement, resolve complex issues, and ensure that processes are governed, documented and operated in a way that supports trading priorities and strategic programmes. A key part of the role is providing clear direction, maintaining strong relationships and acting as the primary bridge between retained teams and Accenture Managed Services to deliver a seamless “one‑team” model with consistent SLAs and operational performance.

You will use data and performance insight to shape decision‑making, steer process change and embed both Accenture-led and Sainsbury’s-led initiatives smoothly into BAU. This includes ensuring new ways of working, documentation and controls are fully understood and adopted across teams. The role also provides leadership to C4 and C3 colleagues and oversees relevant systems and tools, helping to mature our end‑to‑end processes and maximise the value delivered across Commercial & Digital.

More about you

You’re a hands‑on Senior process owner who is comfortable operating in a complex retail environment, with a strong understanding of how Commercial & Digital processes and systems connect. You use that knowledge to simplify and prioritise effectively, communicating clearly and making balanced decisions when priorities compete. Calm under pressure and data‑led in your approach, you can coordinate activity across multiple teams and geographies including offshore partners while facilitating workshops, building alignment and documenting decisions so everyone stays on track. Retail experience, especially within Buying & Merchandising, strengthens your ability to understand and influence end‑to‑end process performance.

You bring deep process management expertise, strong commercial and digital awareness, and the confidence to lead across functions in fast‑paced environments. You diagnose complex issues, influence senior stakeholders and drive clear, aligned outcomes. Motivated and resilient, you work proactively and operate with a high degree of autonomy. You enjoy shaping process culture, coaching others and embedding new ways of working, and you are comfortable navigating ambiguity using insight, structure and cross‑functional leadership to deliver measurable improvements across Commercial & Digital.

Essential Criteria

  • Strong process management experience within Retail preferably within Buying & Merchandising with the ability to simplify, prioritise and improve end‑to‑end Commercial & Digital workflows.
  • Proven ownership of end‑to‑end Commercial & Digital processes, with measurable improvements in efficiency, compliance, cycle time or data quality.
  • Ability to lead complex issue resolution across multiple teams and systems including offshore partners with clear, documented outcomes.
  • Skilled in using performance data and insight to define or monitor SLAs, identify risks and trends, and drive informed prioritisation and decision‑making.
  • Experience designing, maintaining or enhancing process documentation, controls and governance routines to ensure consistent adoption in BAU.
  • Strong cross‑functional leadership, with the ability to land process changes effectively across teams and geographies.
