What you'll do
As the Digital Marketing Lead for PPC at Sainsbury's, you will play a pivotal role in leading the activation and optimisation of paid search, shopping, and app campaigns across various platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, SA360, and Apple Search Ads. Managing a significant share of annual budgets exceeding £100M, you will be responsible for driving performance, innovation, and best-in-class execution through strategic test and learn agendas aimed at improving bidding, targeting, ad creative, and formats. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to align digital activation with campaigns and commercial goals, you will oversee campaign setup, optimisation, and execution while ensuring technical accuracy and fostering strong relationships with offshore teams, in-house colleagues, and platform partners to drive successful outcomes and stay ahead of industry trends and opportunities.
Who you are
As a Digital Marketing Lead - PPC at Sainsbury's, you are a seasoned professional with over 4 years of hands-on experience in digital performance marketing, particularly within ecommerce, fashion, or retail sectors. Your expertise in managing multi-million pound budgets and delivering against performance KPIs, coupled with your deep knowledge of platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and SA360, enables you to drive successful paid search, shopping, and app campaigns. With a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative approach, you excel in aligning digital activation with commercial goals, optimising campaigns, and leveraging data-driven insights to continuously improve performance and drive business growth.
Essential criteria
- Hands‑on experience with Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, SA360.
- Experience with Apple Search Ad.
- Proven management of multi‑million‑pound PPC budgets.
- Strong paid search, shopping and app campaign optimisation skills.
- Experience delivering against performance KPIs.
- Experience with campaign measurement (incrementality, MMM – working knowledge).
