What you'll do
As a Brand Expression Manager at Sainsbury's, you will serve as the brand guardian for the Argos and Habitat brands, ensuring the delivery of creative excellence and consistency across all touchpoints. You will own, develop, and implement brand guidelines, turning visual identities into effective brand toolkits that are fit-for-purpose across various channels and formats. Your responsibilities will include leading brand development projects, managing the trademarks process, and conducting Distinctive Asset Research to inform decision-making for brand assets. In addition, you will build strong relationships with stakeholders, provide clear and consistent brand feedback, and drive the Tone of Voice and brand personality training programme across all brands. Your role will involve making significant decisions on the visual identity of the brands, brand governance, and ensuring marketing communications are developed on brand across all channels.

As the Brand Expression Manager for Sainsbury's, you are an experienced brand guardian with a proven track record of managing multiple brands and delivering creative excellence across various customer touchpoints. Your strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, coupled with your ability to make complex decisions at pace and balance brand protectionism with pragmatism, enable you to drive brand consistency and innovation. With your attention to detail, expertise in tone of voice, and experience in utilising data and insights to inform strategic decisions, you lead brand development projects and ensure that marketing communications reflect the essence of our brands across all channels. Your relentless pursuit of creative excellence, inspiring leadership style, and ability to build strong relationships with peers and senior stakeholders make you a valuable asset in shaping the visual identities and brand experiences of Argos and Habitat.
Essential criteria
Proven experience acting as a brand guardian, owning and protecting brand identity across multiple customer touchpoints within FMCG.
Demonstrable experience managing multiple brands within a complex organisation.
Strong background in brand development, including the creation, ownership and rollout of brand guidelines and toolkits.
Experience using data, insight and research to inform brand and creative decisions.
Experience working with creative agencies to deliver high-quality, on‑brand marketing communications.
