Digital Content Editor

As a Digital Content Editor, you will support the Digital Content Leads to plan, create and co-ordinate best in class digital content that maximises sales, conversion and digital participation, recognising different customer and brand requirements across the category. You will create website content that supports the category strategies, the activity plan and the content strategy, ensuring the content is engaging, informative, inspiring and helpful to support customers on their browse/search/buy journey. You will manage projects from inception to completion and use analytics and assess the effectiveness of content and make data-driven decisions.

 

What you need to do:

  • Work with the Digital Content & Optimisation Manager and Digital Content Leads to develop & deliver website content that supports the content strategy and business commercial priorities.
  • Support Digital Content Leads to maintain an efficient content workflow including content ideation, planning, briefing, creation and quality assurance. 
  • Use a variety of content types to create an engaging and inspiring experience across topics and categories and guide customers to research and buy the right products from any of our digital channels.
  • Work closely with the digital trading, brand and marketing teams to execute category, campaign and event content support in line with the marketing calendar, ensuring all content requirements are developed within brand guidelines and delivered on time and to a high quality.
  • Continually analyse the effectiveness of your content using web analytics tools and make recommendations to improve content based on data.
  • Support digital trading teams where necessary to provide best practice recommendations on content creation and copywriting. 
  • Maintain content standards, including governance and regular maintenance of content.
  • Build relationships with the key stakeholders, including SEO, product, marketing, digital trading and commercial teams.
  • Keep a keen eye on competitor activity and creative to ensure we remain inspirational and relevant for our customers.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Excellent copy writing skills.
  • A solid understanding of SEO best practises and how to use these in copy, page content and page data. 
  • An understanding of using CMS systems to create and manage content. 
  • Good analytical skills with experience of tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics. 

 

What you need to know and show:

  • Creative flair and able to generate new inspirational ideas, briefs and wireframes.
  • Customer focused, keeping the customer needs at the forefront of all decisions.
  • A passion for digital and emerging technology including AI.
  • An understanding of design and planning software such as Figma & Miro. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills which is key when managing projects that require input from other teams who may have other priorities.
  • Good understanding of retail websites and the importance of the customer.

 

What decisions I can make including budget:

  • No direct budget responsibility, however the outcome of the changes you co-ordinate will directly impact sales and conversion. Customer experience online will impact overall perception of our brands.
