What you'll do
You will play a pivotal role in leveraging profitability data strategically across the organisation, collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive informed decision-making and unlock business value. You will act as a bridge between business teams and data functions, translating complex objectives into actionable analytics requirements and ensuring the accurate delivery of the profitability model. Your role will involve proactive engagement with stakeholders to identify opportunities where profitability data can drive strategic decisions or uncover new value streams, with a focus on promoting the use of profitability data, dashboards, and insights across the business. Additionally, you will attend key leadership meetings, steering committees, and working groups, providing leadership and insight to drive business success.
Who you are
You are a strategic and commercially astute finance professional with a keen understanding of profitability data and its critical role in informing decision-making and unlocking business value. With a proven track record in financial and commercial analysis, you excel in translating complex objectives into actionable insights, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive impactful strategic initiatives. Your ability to simplify and analyse large volumes of data, combined with your high level of drive, enthusiasm, and autonomy, enables you to navigate multiple concurrent workstreams and effectively prioritise business objectives. Holding a qualified accountancy qualification and possessing a deep interest in the retail industry, you are adept at promoting the use of profitability data and fostering trust among stakeholders, ultimately driving meaningful impact and creating real value for the organisation.
Essential Criteria
- Recognised professional accountancy qualification, such as CIMA, ACA, or ACCA
- Business partnering experience within a commercial finance role
- Demonstrable financial and commercial analysis skills, including the ability to translate commercial insights into financial implications across the P&L
- Proven ability to simplify complex issues and communicate actionable insights to a range of stakeholders
- Experience in analysing large datasets, with a track record of streamlining data processes for efficiency and clarity
- Evidence of effective prioritisation and stakeholder management, including the ability to challenge and push back when necessary
