Please note, this role is based out of our London Store Support Centre & Home. Colleagues go into the office 1-2 days per week on average.

What you'll do

As Lead Analyst, you will play a crucial role in unlocking value from one of the UK's most dynamic retail data sets collaborating closely with Finance Managers and Senior Leadership. Your responsibilities will include owning the end-to-end delivery of advanced financial analytical projects, building strong relationships across the business, translating complex data into compelling narratives, questioning assumptions, and proposing innovative solutions. Your numerate background, strong SQL and Python skills, proven track record of delivering actionable insights, and high attention to detail will be essential as you drive decision-making and business change through impactful analysis and storytelling.

Who you are

You are a dedicated and innovative professional with a willingness to learn and proven track record of driving advanced data analysis and delivering actionable insights. With experience in BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau, as well as proficiency in SQL and Python, you excel in visualising and communicating complex analytics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your strong relationship-building skills, resilience, and ability to prioritise effectively enable you to collaborate with key stakeholders, manage high-impact business analysis projects, and drive continuous improvement in analytics processes to enhance Finance's ability to contribute value to the organisation. 

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrable proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and manipulation (experience with Snowflake, R, GitHub, and Jira is advantageous but not required)
  • Knowledge of the following Python modules is advantageous: Pandas, scikit-learn and statsmodels
  • Experience delivering actionable insights that contribute to business change or impact
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives, evidenced through data storytelling or presentation work to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Evidence of building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships, including engaging in director-level conversations with resilience and professionalism
  • Experience using BI tools (such as Tableau, Power BI or other similar tools) to effectively communicate insights
  • Educational degree or professional background in a numerate discipline, such as mathematics, statistics, finance or a related analytical field
