What you'll do
You’ll play a crucial role in driving strategic sourcing and procurement activities to support the delivery of resilient connectivity to stores, depots, and shared support centres. You’ll lead multiple commercial tenders and negotiations with platinum suppliers, VM02 and TCS, ensuring that all procurement activities align with Sainsbury's Procurement Policy. You’ll contribute to the design of category strategies, conduct supplier evaluations, and provide insight-driven analysis to inform decision-making, ultimately contributing to the success and efficiency of our tech operations.

As an experienced professional in tech procurement, you bring a wealth of commercial acumen and expertise in leading strategic sourcing activities within a fast-paced environment. Your ability to effectively manage suppliers and stakeholders, negotiate complex commercial terms, and drive business change showcases your exceptional communication skills and cross-functional teamwork. With a keen attention to detail, adherence to procurement policies, and resilience in times of change, you are well-equipped to make a significant impact in the Tech Procurement team here at Sainsbury's.
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience leading strategic sourcing activities and commercial tenders, including negotiations with major suppliers in alignment with procurement policy.
- Proven ability to design and execute category strategies, supported by supplier evaluations and insight-driven analysis to inform commercial decisions.
- Evidence of managing supplier relationships and stakeholder engagement, contributing to business change and operational efficiency within a tech-focused environment.
- Experience working within a fast-paced, policy-driven procurement function, with attention to detail and resilience during periods of change.
