What you'll do

As an Associate Analyst in the Argos Commercial Analytics team at Sainsbury's, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging data to drive commercial success by generating analytical insights that inform pricing strategies and business decisions. Your analytical mindset and problem-solving skills will be put to use as you apply logical and creative thinking to complex commercial challenges, utilising data-driven insights to enhance profitability and commercial impact. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, you will champion a collaborative approach to requirements gathering and analysis development, presenting your findings with clarity and empathy to inspire action and drive measurable business transformation. Through your work, you will contribute to shaping and delivering Argos's strategic ambitions, providing recommendations and identifying opportunities for improvement based on a deep understanding of the business and its unique operating model.

As an Associate Analyst - Commercial at Sainsbury's, you are a dedicated professional with a strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and a passion for leveraging data to drive commercial success. Essential Criteria 

  • Demonstratable experience in applying SQL for data analysis, with a willingness to develop skills in R or Python using statistical methods appropriately 
  • Proven ability to generate actionable commercial insights, including evaluating pricing strategies and competitor analysis to inform business decisions 
  • Evidence of designing and interpreting KPIs and analytical frameworks to support strategic decision-making and identify growth opportunities 
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, applying commercial understanding to gather requirements and deliver relevant analysis
