What you'll do
As a Technologist with Sainsbury's in the Global Clothing Technical division, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of all aspects of the Sainsbury's Argos General Merchandise & Clothing product and technical plans, with a focus on quality, safety, legality, and supplier performance. Collaborating with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and retail teams, you will ensure that great quality products are consistently produced to the correct standards. Your role will involve risk assessment, supplier selection, product appraisal, competitor benchmarking, range reviews, and post-implementation reviews. Additionally, you will create and manage technical records, resolve product issues, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to the technical strategy, all while adhering to company procedures and legal guidelines. Being commercially aware, adaptable, and communicative is essential for success in this role.
Who you are
As a Technologist for Sainsbury's in the Global Clothing Technical division, you are a highly skilled professional responsible for managing the delivery of all aspects of the General Merchandise & Clothing product and technical plans. With a strong focus on quality, safety, legality, and supplier performance, you collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the consistent production of great quality products that meet customer expectations and internal KPIs. With your experience in a technical environment, attention to detail, and commercial awareness, you drive the technical agenda, resolve issues, and implement cost reduction initiatives while ensuring compliance with company procedures and legal guidelines. Your effective communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment contribute to the success of the team and the delivery of top-notch products.
