What you'll do

As the Sustainability Analytics Manager at Sainsbury's, you will be instrumental in driving forward initiatives across the Corporate Sustainability Plan, focusing on climate change, waste reduction, and social responsibility. Your role will involve collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to shape the direction of the business's sustainability efforts, utilising innovative analytical solutions and a multitude of data sources to deliver tangible results. With a dynamic and diverse workload, you will have the opportunity to influence senior stakeholders through data-driven insights and contribute to creating a more sustainable future for generations to come. Your role will also involve working closely with cross-functional teams, defining requirements for new capability, and building out a roadmap of activities to demonstrate the value delivered through analytics and data-driven decision-making.

Who you are

As the Sustainability Analytics Manager for Sainsbury's, you are a driven and inquisitive problem-solver with a passion for leveraging data and analytics to drive positive change in sustainable practises. Your ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity, coupled with your strong commercial acumen and compelling communication skills, enable you to collaborate effectively with stakeholders to deliver tangible results and influence strategic decision-making. With a keen eye for detail and a dedication to high-quality data storytelling, you are adept at identifying innovative analytical solutions and defining roadmaps that maximise the strategic impact and value for the business.

Essential Criteria

  • Extensive knowledge of SQL, Snowflake or Python
  • Familiarity with Platforms like AWS and Azure
  • Strong Stakeholder Management
  • The ability to drive insights and influence through Data
  • Experience of owning most of the analytical work and influencing at a senior level
