Please note, this role is based out of our Holborn Store Support Centre & Home. Colleagues go into the office 1-2 days per week on average.
We’re looking for a passionate Pensions Analyst to join our team to help improve the member experience for the c80,000 members of our defined benefit scheme. You will become an expert of the established benefit testing process completed by an independent third party to ensure compliance with the Rules and legislation. You’ll agree actions with the administrators where issues are identified and track the completion of these.

- Gain a full understanding of the Scheme’s benefit structure and our Member Experience Strategy
- Support the Head of Pensions in the management of the Scheme’s Third-Party Administrators, AVC provider and Financial Adviser
- Attend, minute and present at quarterly Member Experience Committee meetings. Write papers for these meetings and be responsible for the timely provision of these, and those written by third parties, to the Committee
- Manage cases through the Scheme’s Ill Health process and build a positive relationship with the Scheme’s Ill Health Panel
- With the support of the Head of Pensions manage member complaints. This includes communicating with members by telephone, email and letter. Understand the issues they have raised and agree how best to resolve them
- Ensure compliance with GDPR controls relating to the benefits/member aspects of the Scheme
- Gain a full understanding of the Trustee’s approach to communicating with members
- Implementation of the Trustee’s Digital First Communication Strategy. Regularly review existing communications and suggest new communications to support this
- Become an expert on the Scheme’s website, suggest and agree new content with the website designer
More about you
- Experience in the pensions industry, with specific defined benefit scheme experience
- Microsoft Outlook and Word to an advanced standard. Excel to a good standard
- Experience in minute taking and writing papers
- Basic knowledge of DB pensions, governance, and Revenue requirements; DC knowledge useful
- Good organisation and time management, managing various workstreams simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and initiative
- Effective supplier management
